Standardized tests should not cause such anxiety. They should not fill students or their parents with dread and fear of failure. The honest truth is that every student can do well on a standardized test. He or she just needs to work hard and believe in him or herself.

We have a four-step approach that we have found very successful:

1. Teach students everything on the test
2. Teach them how it will be tested
3. Give them lots of practice
4. Build their confidence

Using this approach, our students do very well on their exams.

We also believe in a strong line of communication between the tutor, student, and parent. The more each person knows about the exam, the more comfortable each person becomes.
